Street Style

Note to Kelly Ripa:
This look is tres adorable on you! It is the perfect combination of casual yet sophisticated. I love that you didn't feel the need to wear a black top with the black and white skirt. The navy tank is a perfect addition to the look and keeps it from being too matchy-matchy.

Note to Readers:
This ensemble is exemplary in a few different categories:
1. Dressing for petite figures- This Dries Van Noten skirt has horizontal lines that make Kelly's gamine frame appear more curvy.
2. Dressing casually- For some dressing casually means wearing sweats and what ever shirt doesn't have a stain on it. Kelly's tank, skirt, and sandals combo shows that even when you are running errands, you can look effortlessly chic.
3. Dressing in hot weather- tanks, skirts, and sandals are all great ways to stay cool in the summer heat. I actually prefer to wear dresses and skirts when it is really hot. I think it is much more comfortable than wearing shorts, which are usually a tighter fit than most skirts, and don't allow your skin to breathe.
4. Dressing appropriately for one's age- I appreciate that Kelly isn't wearing an denim skirt with holes in it, and a Hello Kitty t-shirt, if you catch my drift. The length of the skirt is fitting for a woman Kelly's age, and she looks sexy while not trying to dress like a teen. Are you paying attention Mariah?

Oh Jessica...

Note to Jessica Simpson:
A lot has been said recently about your appearance at last Sunday's Radio 99.9 Kiss Country's Chili Cookoff.  I agree with your sister Ashlee, people do need to stop talking about your weight.  Let's face it, maybe you have gained a couple of pounds, but you still look great and you definitely look healthy and happy.  Your outfit, however is not doing you any favors.  The wrong clothing can make anyone look bad.  You just need to spend less time talking about Tony Romo, and more time talking to your stylist.

Note to Readers:
Most of us deal with weight issues at some point in our lives.  The way you dress can make you look thinner, more curvy, taller, more petite... you name it, there is a way to dress for it.  Basically, if you are self conscious about your tummy and hips, DO NOT wear high waisted jeans with your top tucked in.  These pants draw attention right to your hips and abs, when you are trying to divert the eye from them.  Also, if your arms are not quite as toned as they used to be, do not wear a tank top!  There are a multitude of fabulous tops right now, in all different colors and shapes, all of them with sleeves.  None of us have perfect figures, you just need to know how to dress to make it appear that way. Email me if you want me to write about any specific concerns.  Have a lovely day, and thanks for reading.

I Am... Sasha Lame

Note to Beyonce:
You are beautiful, I can't argue with that. You have a curvy figure, and I love that you show that women of all sizes are beautiful. THIS IS IMPORTANT THOUGH, no matter how pretty you are, or how bootylicious, or how fierce, it is never acceptable to wear an outfit made solely of spandex or lycra. Seriously, this outfit would make Kate Moss look like she needs to shop at Lane Bryant. Time to fire your mom, and hire a stylist.

Note to Readers:
I want to make sure you all know, I think that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. How you dress can emphasize your uniqueness, or in this case can draw awkward attention to your body. Choose what you wear wisely, it is how you present yourself to the world.

Side Note:
Beyonce's new album is titled I Am... Sasha Fierce., hence the title of the post. Just thought I would clear that up.
