New York Fashion Week Part I

Note to Chris Benz:
I attended your presentation during New York Fashion Week and I loved some of your colorful creations. Your Spring 2010 line had some items that will be big sellers (pretty party dresses) and some that may not sell well, but they looked amazing in the presentation (the rainbow feathered number). I loved the feminine dresses mixed with varying textures of fabric. The airy space in the Meatpacking District was a nice backdrop for the bright clothing. Nicely done. Please check out the rest of Chris' Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear collection along with a review here.

Note to Readers:
I went to New York Fashion Week. I could not wipe the smile off of my face the entire time. I went to a few presentations and a couple of shows, and I loved every single second of it.

Please excuse the quality of the photos, they were taken on my little digital camera or on my phone. I had to post them because I wanted to share with you all my experiences at Fashion Week. Keep checking back for more stories and photos.

Side note-- a presentation is an economically friendly alternative to a fashion show. The designer opts to have a model in each look of their line and stand on a stage all at once, or in a group rotation. This is different from a show, where each model walks singularly down a runway. This season a lot of designers had presentations in locations around Manhattan, as opposed to having a show in the tents in Bryant Park.

Additional Side Note-- The reason these posts are about a week late is I was working with Habitat for Humanity last week in North Carolina. I figure as far as excuses go, building a home and doing humanitarian work should count right?

Welcome

Note to Carolina Herrera:
Rumor has it you are now officially a citizen of the US. You have dressed Jackie O., one of our nation's most famous women. I am sure she would be happy to hear you made it official. I know that I am glad to have you here in the USA.

Note to Readers:
I am sure you already know who Carolina Herrera is, but just in case you wanted more information about her... please check out this article(page 13) I wrote about Carolina for Eliza Magazine.

Stay tuned, I have NY fashion week pics to post.
